24 Hour Off Licences in Wales

Welcome to 24 Hour Alcohol, the place to find your local 24 hour off licence and alcohol delivery service in Wales. Locate supermarkets, convenience stores, garages and booze delivery services licensed to sell alcohol 24 hours.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION REGARDING ALCOHOL SALES IN WALES BETWEEN 10PM-6AM: From 24 September 2020, licensed premises in Wales can no longer sell alcohol after 10pm or before 6am due to Welsh COVID-19 regulations. In Wales, the new 10pm cut-off time applies not just to pubs, bars & restaurants but also retail outlets (supermarkets, convenience stores, garages etc.) so sadly our database of 24 hour off licences in Wales won't be much help while the temporary restrictions are in place. Shops in England with 24 hour alcohol licences are unaffected so can still sell alcohol 24 hours a day.

Want to buy booze “after hours” but not sure where to find your nearest 24 hour shop that serves alcohol all night? No problem, we’ve got it covered! From North Wales to South Wales, the above map shows the locations of all 24 hour off licences in the whole of Wales. So now you can locate all supermarkets, convenience stores, corner shops, grocery stores and petrol station forecourts/garages that are licensed to sell alcohol 24 hours a day. Depending on your location, you may even be able to use a drink delivery service (see alcohol delivery in Wales) to get beer, wine and spirits delivered to your door, if you don’t feel like going out to a 24 hour supermarket or convenience store to buy booze (or if you’ve already been drinking, so can’t drive and can’t be bothered to take a taxi).

COVID-19 Update: Tesco & Asda are the only large supermarket chains that open 24 hours and both companies suspended 24 hour opening back in March 2020. Around half of all 24hr Asda stores have now resumed opening 24 hours, with more to follow soon. Many other 24 hour shops in our database are open for business as usual, however, some retailers are still operating reduced opening times, so we highly recommend phoning ahead to check that your local 24hr shop is open as normal to avoid a wasted journey.

Don’t forget, due to Sunday trading regulations in England & Wales, large supermarkets aren’t allowed to open 24 hours on Sundays, which obviously isn’t any help when you want to buy booze late on Saturday night (or the early hours of Sunday morning), however, small convenience stores and petrol filling stations can open 24/7, as they’re exempt from Sunday trading restrictions. We’ve tried to list opening times where possible but it’s always best to double check yourself, if you’re going out on a specific journey to buy booze late at night. Please let us know if you spot any errors.

Please Note: Just because a shop has applied for and been granted a 24 hour alcohol licence doesn't necessarily mean that it is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. In some areas, there are many shops that have decided not to open all night, even though they are licensed to sell alcohol 24 hours. It's also worth noting that on Sundays, large supermarkets over 3000 sq ft (Tesco, Asda, Sainsbury's, Morrisons, Lidl, Aldi, Waitrose, Marks & Spencer, Iceland etc.) are only permitted to open for a maximum of six hours due to Sunday trading laws in England and Wales, therefore large 24 hour supermarkets are only of any use on weekdays or Friday nights - don't get caught out after 11:59pm on a Saturday night! Some large Tesco supermarkets (usually Tesco Extra branches) open at midnight on Monday morning (Sunday night). Where possible, we've listed opening times of stores but these should only be used as a guide, as trading hours of individual shops may change from time to time. We've tried to list the phone number for each 24 hour off licence so you can confirm opening times before setting off on your quest for 24 hour booze. If you're planning to visit a 24 hour supermarket operated by one of the large supermarket chains then you may prefer to use their store locator to check opening times, especially on bank holidays, in the run up to Christmas and during Coronavirus lockdown.
