COVID-19 Update: Tesco & Asda supermarkets suspended 24 hour opening back in March 2020, with most closing at 10pm (some have since extended opening times until midnight). A number of Asda stores have now started to resume opening 24 hours again, with more to follow soon. 24 hour alcohol licence for delivery only
After the new “24 hour drinking” regulations were introduced in 2005, The Royal Borough of Kingston upon Thames was one of only two councils in London not to grant any off licences a 24 hour alcohol licence. After more than 11 years without a 24 hour off licence, Kingston upon Thames finally granted its first 24 hour alcohol licence on 21 June 2016. On 19 September 2017, the Sainsbury’s Sury Basin superstore was granted a 24 hour alcohol but only for delivery, not for walk-in customers.
If you’re not near a 24 hr off licence, perhaps you should consider ordering booze from one of London’s alcohol delivery companies.
